Earlier this week I looked at my calender to see two blank, white squares labeled Friday and Saturday. You know what that means? NO COMMITMENTS! I'm going to cook and read and watch a lot of Mad Men and knit A TON because Applefest is coming right up. I'm also going to buy myself something pretty with my birthday money because my Grandma told me to, and then I'm going to go show it to her. There's also a really good chance I'm going to drink too much coffee, eat a donut, get Mexican food for at least two meals and probably drink some wine (maybe even in a hot tub). Weekend, here I come!

I really like what little I've heard of The National and as soon as I get that old cd unstuck from my car stereo, or a DVD player that works or my computer fixed or bring that stereo up from the basement (I have some technical difficulties and how!) I plan to Interlibrary Loan all the cds of theirs I can. In the meantime I am in love with this video: the song and the imagery and the light sixties/Don Draper feel of it (Or is that just me?)
Isn't that lovely? The only problem I have with it for a Happy Thursday post is that it's a little poignant for a happy Thursday. It's excellent, but it tugs on the emotions a bit (or at least it did for me). So to make sure you leave a Happy Thursday post, well, happy, here is this next video. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the internet for increasing my hypochondriac nature by approximately a billion. At this very moment, I'm pretty darn sure I have meningitis (sore neck and shoulders, headache, and chills. Although I got the chills after looking up meningitis symptoms on the internet, so, you know, maybe not the most reliable symptom.) I would also like to thank Bodies Revealed for making it even easier to think what my meninges would look like if infected. Gross!
But this is a happy Thursday, not an imaginary sick Thursday. So let's all sing along with the video above and reassure ourselves that we have nothing to worry about and that if we've got problems, we'll just solve them!
This song was on the radio on my drive home from work yesterday, and when I pulled through the ATM next to some road work with this song BLASTING all of the construction workers watched me drive past. Ah, good times.
Anyway, I have a very busy and exciting weekend all planned. Tomorrow, I go to see this, which I have wanted to see for years and years. Then a couple of nights of wine drinking, a housewarming party and lots and lots of knitting. Hopefully I'll find my camera charger so I can take some pictures of the many objects I will surely finish this weekend!

Hello everyone and welcome to Thursday, my most favorite day of the week! The weekend is all stretched ahead with only one more piddly day of work in my way. Thursday is the day I catch up on a week's worth of DVRed Daily Shows, Colbert Reports, Dirty Jobs, and Mythbusters, the day I don't do any chores, the day I knit a whole sock (I hope) because I have a Friday deadline set. Thursdays are for after work cocktails and getting into pj's immediately after coming home.
